Well, it’s no longer a rumor. They are here. They are here not just to play, but, to win. Head Coach Zia Panjsheri has a lot on his plate as he is trying to strengthen the squad to get ASF Select back in the Group Game race. As of now, a return to the group A top four is his priority, followed by a desire to play the kind of attacking, dynamic brand of soccer his side delivered this past Memorial Day weekend in New Jersey when they were crowned AASA Soccer Champion.
According to the US Census Bureau and the Embassy of Afghanistan in Washington, DC, the over-all Afghan population in the United States in 2011 is around 300,000 with about 30,000 residing in Northern Virginia. To that end, many of those communities which are now part of the American melting pot are becoming more and more homogeneous. Consequently, we now all share a common goal of strengthening our geopolitical relation, leaning each other culture, and improving the world for the better though the most powerful tool: Soccer
