With a display of physical, tactical and mental strength, Armenia bulldozed their way into the Diaspora World Cup opening game. The 7-0 emphatic scoreline shows the weakness of this Sierra Leone side that was into the match until they conceded the second goal and realized that there was no way back against this Armenia side that conceded very little during the game despite their seemingly slow central defenders. Coach Chux Nielsen offered very poor tactical solutions when it really mattered and leaving some of his best team members on the bench when 7-0 down is a bit questionable, to put it mildly!
The strength of the Armenian side is that they are a team. All players know exactly their role and do the right things at the right moment. They may of course prove us wrong but this Armenia side resembles the Cameroonian side that won the last Diaspora World Cup in terms or organization and tactical awareness...only a tad more entertaining! In our opinion, they can go all the way and win it, especially if Turkey surprise African Union later on.
Football is the most fascinating sport in the world because of its unpredictability, but the Armenians are a bit boring from this perspective...there is nothing unpredictable in them being in top of their group.
