Cameroon coach Brandon Chenwi and substitutes during the game.
Inspired by head coach Brandon Chenwi, the Diaspora team of Cameroon scored six times for this one game in the league in what was a devastating attacking display against coach Teddy of Ethiopia. At times this win was reminiscent of the way Cameroon had ripped through South Africa back line in a friendly game two weeks ago at the Germantown Soccerplex.
The runner up of the 2013 Diaspora World Cup Ethiopia was caught out by their speed and incisiveness on the counter-attack as they chased the game. With captain and right winger Robel finding it difficult to impose himself on the game thanks to the close attention of Cameroonian defense, Ethiopia's response was largely limited to shots from distance. They did improve as half-time approached and Mubarek forced Cameroonian goalkeeper into low saves, but Cameroon continued to threaten on the break. Only after the interval did Ethiopia manage a spell of sustained pressure, and they threatened almost immediately when captain Robel, again let fly from outside the box and saw the ball fizz narrowly wide. Only four teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage. This puts a lot of pressure on the Diaspora team of Ethiopia to come with a win next weekend. Stay Tuned.
